Ep #30 | Dreams come true11 min read
Good morning! Do you like my hair? I did it just for you!
Guess what today is? It’s packing day. Yeah, because I’m moving tomorrow. You know what I hate about packing day? Everything! But, I’m very excited to move. I am so excited to get settled in my new place, and make shit happen. I don’t know if my cats are as happy as I am, though.
Are you happy, Kitten? Kitten! You excited to move? Yes?
She don’t know. She don’t know anything. Charlie’s excited. Aren’t you, Charlie? Actually, he’s gonna be pissed. He loves it here, because he likes to watch the birds out the window. Oh, look, you see that spot there? Birdshit. How annoying is that?
Anyway, this is just a little update, a friendly update, to let you know what’s happening in the world, in the Daily Hustle of PTSarahLong… of Sarah Long… and… what else? What else can I tell you?
Oh, did I tell you about how yesterday I got a new bed? It’s a very exciting time, because, I don’t know if I’ve ever told you this, but I’m pretty much sleeping on my bones. Just bones. Because I lost so much weight. Like, I’m so, so, so skinny. So, that’s disgusting, in and of itself. But, my bed. My bed is, like, super hard. So, it’s like my bones are laying on bone. That’s what it’s like. And I think that’s why I have so much pain all the time. So, I’m hoping that this new bed thing sorts that out. But, I, yeah, I think it will, because I have hope, because my pain problem… The pain I was having? Has gone away… Well, it’s not gone away completely, but it’s not there like it was, so… Yeah, who knows, I might be around longer than you thought.
I might be around longer than you thought. And, if that’s the case, then look out world, cause we’re gonna save ya. Yep.
What up? What up? Guess where I’m at? Ok, I’ll show you. There. Here, and that’s my view. Are you jealous? Cause you should be! I just thought I’d update you on moving day, cause it’s going fan-freaking-tastic! Like, I have a lot of energy right now, in case you didn’t notice. But, anyway, I’m just here, I’m just here at this restaurant by the seaside, because it’s a magnificent view. And, they’ve got the best tacos I’ve ever had, so I’m having some tacos, some chicken tacos, and then… and then, I’m gonna have some water with it, and then I’m gonna think, and I’m gonna admire my panoramic view of the Georgia Strait. And then, I’m going to take a walk by the beach. And, I was thinking, while I walk, I might grab a cold pop. Might grab a cold pop. It’s so much fun when you have scenes like that to look forward to.
So, yeah, that’s my view. I even got myself a cold pop. Gonna get a cold pop. A cold pop. I got a cold pop with Chinese herbs. That’s healthy, right? So they say…
Kay, it’s happening. Do you see all my shit in the back? Oh, I gotta put my seatbelt on. Standby. So, yeah. It’s happening. It’s happening. It’s happening, it’s happening, it’s happening. I’m going to catch the ferry, take my shit over to Vancouver. Yep, yep, yep, it’s that time.
So, I’m here… my new place. I just brought my shit in, well, what I could fit in my car, anyway. And, like, I’m sitting here, by myself, thinking about the change that’s happening. Which is really an amazing thing, right? But, it’s like, I’ve wanted this for a long time, and I’m very excited about the change, but there’s also a part of me that’s, like, sad, because, even though we want something different, or even though we don’t like something, when it comes time to really change, to really, like, follow through, the Monster is always going to stop you, or make you feel bad about it.
Guess what I’m doing today? Going to get some groceries at the Lonsdale Quay. Literally, my dream is coming true, like, today is what it looks like when your dreams come true. When you set the intention to change, and you know what it is that you want, what kind of life you want… it can happen. It can happen! I’m proof! Proof, bitch! So, I’m on my way down to the market, to get some produce. Some groceries for my stirfries and my juices and my salads. I’m really gonna try to get lots of vegetables in the next little bit. We need the phytonutrients, and we need the… one second, I gotta cross the street… and I need the fibre, and the micronutrients, if that’s even possible, since our soil is so depleted. I’m gonna go in this thrift store, I’ll be back, we’ll talk about this later.
I just picked up some groceries… I got some produce. Yeah, I’m’ just down by the water, can you see that view? I just can’t, like, I can’t even believe this is happening! There goes the seabus.
I just want to tell you something, so that you can put it in your back pocket, so you can always remember it. It’s a really important thing to keep in the back of your mind… and that is: Nothing, absolutely nothing, is ever what it seems on the surface. And, trust me when I say that when you first start learning about something, whether it’s something you just see, and you think about it, or it’s something you’re involved with, like a circumstance, or something. Trust me when I say there’s so many layers to everything, and what you see on the surface, the beginning of everything, and the more you journey into it, oh. There’s so much to it… there’s so much to it! There’s so much more than you realise, and there’s just so much more emotion behind everything than you think. Remember that.
So, what I’m saying is, don’t judge shit. Don’t think that somebody has done something to you. There’s a reason for it. Don’t think something is happening to you. Like, I don’t even really know what I’m talking about, exactly, I’m just saying that… what if you are resistant to something, if you think that something is offensive, or if you think you know something, you don’t. And, if something is offensive or you take things personally, trust me when I say it’s never about you. It’s about them.
It’s about the emotion behind it, the story behind it. It’s always a bigger story. There’s the metadata, and then there’s all the… the script in between all that, the real juice, the real… the real stories of the metadata.
I know what you’re thinking.
Cause that’s Beverley.
Like, as the reason for helping me find the cancer, she’s the reason for me writing the stories, and building Satori. She’s actually my guardian angel. I think. I think that’s what it’s called. Yeah, yeah, she’s my grandmother, but… Yeah, yeah, she’s a seagull, but… Yeah, yeah, but she’s also… an angel. My guardian angel. And she can help you too, if you ask her. You just gotta say, “Beverley, Beverley, please help me understand… Please help me see clearly. Please help me make better decisions. Please give me the strength to do it.” Like, you just gotta ask.
And, if you don’t wanna ask Beverley, that’s fine. She won’t be offended. You can ask anybody that you know, that’s dead.
Wanna see what I got for groceries? Ok. I got some eggs. I got tomatoes, some spring mix, bananas. They don’t go in the fridge, though. Got a pepper, a green one, and another green one. And, we got an orange one. We got some limes. Oh, we got cucumber, green apples. We got some oranges. And I got a mango, some romaine lettuce for salads. Got some avocados, got some garlic, a shitload. Half a cabbage.
Yeah, so, I didn’t get everything I wanted there, but I got most things. So, gotta get some rice, maybe I’ll do some quinoa, we’ll see.
It’s me, I’m at a coffee shop. It’s called Luna Cafe. Luna, as in lunar, as in lunar eclipse. Right? Is that a thing? I donno, I’m making shit up. So, I don’t know if I told you this, but today, I’m just coffee shop hopping, so it’s Coffee Shop Hopping Day. What that means is, I’m taking today to hop to different coffee shops and see how I feel about them. The thing is every coffee shop is unique, in and of itself, and it has its own personality traits that make you want to either come back and be friends with them, on the regular, or you’re just like, yeah no. I don’t feel it there, I’m not feeling it. And it’s important, because, for me, based on my new life that I’m creating, I have to be moving and exploring, because it keeps the frequency high. It, like, it keeps the creativity going. And, the thing is, is up until recently, I haven’t really wanted to go anywhere or do anything, because I haven’t felt like I was home.
And, since I moved… I feel home. Oh my god, I feel so good about everything! Like, when I tell you… when I say…
